Em 04 de junho de 1989, as tropas chinesas esmagaram um prostesto liderado por estudantes na praça Tiananmen, em Beijing. Ninguém sabe exatamente quantos morreram. O governo chinês fala em 234, mas fontes independentes falam em números que variam de mais de dois mil até sete mil mortos. A imagem mais marcante foi a do homem que sozinho arriscou a vida e parou por minutos uma fileira de tanques, até ser retirado do lugar por amigos. Veja o vídeo acima.
